by Craig Green
When I come home from living my journey
I will find peace and love without end
But now I wander, jealously searching
for all the things that hearts need to mend
Peril and danger darken my spirit
when I reach inside but look away
Knowing the strength found within the darkness
helps to reveal thoughts that show the way
Finding safe harbors to hold me gently
while all around me worlds disappear
Thoughtful reflection's never a weapon
but the way chosen to persevere
When the rain falls down from the clouds slowly
like a warm mist grown out of the dew
I can see hope when through the fog clearly
all of my fears bring forth something new
Choosing a pathway without life's struggle
weakens the spirit, binding the soul
Looking for freedom can be a challenge
when lofty goals reach too high to hold
Without a light to hold and to guide me
I have to reach here, deep down inside
Where I find warmth and loving reflection
after the doubts leave no place to hide
Let it be said that wonder abounds here
as I look forward to morrow's dawn
Nothing but hope and strengthening wisdom
are to be found here to carry on...
